The Sentro is happy to announce the successful set-up of a new UBM (ultrasound biomicroscopy) + A-scan machine. The Glaucoma Service can now do UBM testing using the new Aviso platform.
More complex anterior segment diseases can now be characterized with this instrument. This also is an alternative platform to our ellex EyeCubed ultrasound for pre-operative contact biometry.

Where diagnostics and therapy are reimbursable by Philhealth, benefits may be fully applied. For most services, fees are tiered based on ability to pay, with a network of medical foundations able to provide assistance in situations of indigency. Referrals from other institutions and practitioners are most welcome. The DOVS fully intends to maximize the outputs of these instruments, and in doing so, serve the largest possible number of Filipinos.
This, and most acquisitions for this year came through the persistence and dedication of members of the previous administration team of the Hospital and Sentro, with Dr. Raul Cruz at the helm in the SOJR, and Dr. Jose Gonzales at the PGH. Funded by the General Appropriations of the national government, it represents recognition of health as a priority of the nation and people; it is a welcome demonstration of health sector growth vis-a-vis incremental gains and successes in recent times.
We invite those of the public in need to reach out to us if this or any other service listed in the website may help you with your condition, or, if we may collaborate on any endeavor of research, training, or service.
