The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the UP-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH DOVS), together with the Ophthalmology Residents’ Alumni Association (ORAA) are pleased to invite you to our upcoming back-to-back post-graduate activities for the month of May.
May 11-12, 2019, SATURDAY
The Basic Course in Clinical Diagnostics and Instrumentation is a post-graduate seminar for ophthalmology residents and graduates that willthat will be comprised of:
a. Lectures by faculty members of the PGH DOVS and distinguished alumni of the ORAA, all of whom are always sought-after guest lecturers at the annual meetings of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology. These lectures will be held on May 11 and 12, 2019 from 8:00AM to 5:30 PM at the Romeo B. Espiritu Auditorium, located at the 5th floor of the SOJR.
b. Hands-on training by alumni of the ORAA using different diagnostic tools and instruments used in common practice in ophthalmology. This activity aims to present the different machines, instruments, and diagnostics used in everyday clinic use such as slit lamps, indirect ophthalmoscopes, phoropters, lensometers, keratometers, exophthalmometers, prism and ophthalmoscopes. These will be held on May 11 and 12, 2019, at various locations in the SOJR.
May 18, 2019, SATURDAY
The first Basic Course on Ocular Disease: Clinical Diagnosis and Management of HIV-related Ocular Complications, a post-graduate course for residents and graduates of Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, is designed to enhance their knowledge in diagnosing and managing of HIV and AIDS in the eye. The course will feature members of the PGH DOVS and distinguished alumni of the ORAA and Infectious Disease service, all of whom are sought-after guest lecturers at the annual meetings of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology or the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
The registration fees are as follows:
For Basic Course in Clinical Diagnositcs and Instrumentation (May 11-12):
P2500 for in-training ophthalmologists and
P3000 for post-graduate ophthalmologists, inclusive of lunch and snacks for two days.
For Basic Course on Ocular Disease: Clinical Diagnosis and Management of HIV-related Ocular Complications (May 18):
P1000 for in-training ophthalmologists, internal medicine, and infectious disease fellows-in-training
P1500 for post-graduate ophthalmologists,and internal medicine consultants inclusive of lunch and snacks.
For both post-graduate courses (Bundled Registration):
P3000 for in-training ophthalmologists, internal medicine, and infectious disease fellows-in-training
P4000 for post-graduate ophthalmologists,and internal medicine consultants inclusive of lunch and snacks.
