Some of the funds were also used to augment rehabilitation works and secure vital supplies:
While the DOVS has benefited tremendously from major windfalls of support such as that from the Kingdom of Spain in the construction of the SOJR, we as a public institution of a developing nation still encounter considerable limitations in sustaining our operations and keeping up with the rapid changes in medicine. Traditions and endeavors like these of the ORAA show how continued, active fellowship is a vital resource in sustaining and furthering the mission of the DOVS-SOJR, and ultimately, of the UP-PGH. May this demonstrate the institution's commitment to develop professionals committed to the advancement of the Filipino people's well-being -- and encourage not just alumni but interested professionals, industry partners, students, or contributors to contact us, should you wish to explore ways of helping or sharing in our tasks!
